Packers are expandable rubber or mechanical devices used to seal a section of the borehole, allowing grout to be injected precisely into the targeted zone. Methodology The process begins with drilling boreholes to the required depth. Packers are then inserted into the borehole at specific intervals to isolate sections (stage grouting). Grout, typically cement slurry, microfine cement, or chemical grout, is injected through pipes at controlled pressure using a grouting pump. The packer expands and seals the borehole, ensuring that grout is directed into the surrounding soil or rock mass rather than flowing back along the borehole. Grouting is carried out in stages (top-down or bottom-up method), and parameters such as injection pressure, grout volume, and flow rate are continuously monitored.
