Description

Grouting is a ground improvement technique used to fill voids, cracks, and pores in soil or rock by injecting suitable grout materials such as cement slurry, microfine cement, or chemical grout under controlled pressure. The primary objective of grouting is to increase strength, reduce permeability, and improve the overall stability of the ground. In this process, boreholes are drilled up to the required depth, and grout is injected through pipes or packers using controlled pressure. The grout penetrates into the soil or rock mass, filling voids and binding particles together. The operation is generally carried out in stages, while continuously monitoring pressure, volume, and flow rate to ensure proper penetration and effectiveness. Grouting is widely used for foundation strengthening, seepage control, soil stabilization, and repair of cracks in structures. It enhances load-bearing capacity, reduces settlement, and improves durability, making it suitable for construction projects such as buildings, bridges, dams, tunnels, and pavements.
