The Plate Load Test is an in-situ geotechnical test used to evaluate the load-settlement behaviour of soil at foundation level. A rigid steel plate is placed on a prepared test surface, and load is applied in stages while settlement is measured. The results help assess soil response under loading and provide supporting data for foundation design and engineering evaluation.
